Meet the Facilitator - Dwain E. Sliger, M.Div, MA, LPC, CRAADC
Dwain Edwin Sliger received his Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri and a Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Missouri.
Dwain has extensive teaching experience as a college adjunct instructor. He is a former Navy chaplain and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His professional memberships include the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Dwain is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, families, and groups improve their lives as they work through issues leading to mental and spiritual wellness. His therapeutic work includes: anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, trauma, marriage enrichment, co-parenting, and high conflict families. He works extensively with court ordered family counseling.
He has worked with the military and the veteran population as a Navy Chaplain as well as clergy in congregational settings. He has worked with law enforcement as a chaplain and counselor.
He uses motivational interviewing, solution focused, positive psychology, cognitive behavioral, and person centered approaches in working with individuals and families.
Dwain believes God is able to work in our lives with the assurance of redemption, restoration and renewal with the goal of making us whole in Jesus Christ.
He is mindful and respectful of the individual value systems and diversity of his clients and has a strong awareness of the value of cultural diversity in the counseling setting.
The first session will be client-focused and designed to collaborate and create treatment goals for therapy.
