Connie Grant, M.Ed., MSW, LCSW

As a licensed clinical social worker, I have a heart for those who are struggling with life’s challenges. As one who has had many myself, I know the power of the Holy Spirit’s guidance along with the desire to identify the obstacles in life that can prevent us from living our best lives. Reaching out for counseling and developing a strong bond of mutual trust and acceptance with someone is a sacred trust that I hold with my clients. By developing a path forward together and goal setting, I hope to see behavioral, emotional and relational issues improve and hope restored.

I have attended University of Missouri and received my Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work. I then attended Missouri Baptist University and obtained a Masters in Educational Counseling. I received a Master of Social Work from the University of Florida. Subsequently, I obtained my Missouri and Illinois Master of Social Work licensures.

I have worked 23 years in the field of education as a school counselor, crisis team member and Special Education liaison. I have worked with English Language Learners and their families from numerous countries and cultures. I have worked with children from age 6 to 17 and their parents for consultation.

As a social worker in the medical field for over 20 years, I have worked on medical, geriatric and hospice units. By working on adolescent, adult and chemical dependency units I have seen the struggles that families and patients have gone through and how these issues impact families.

My specializations include anxiety, depression, low self esteem, peer issues, poor self concept, foster and adoption issues, life challenges, boundary issues, ADHD, grief support, and geriatric issues; and I use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, and Art Therapy.
