Marissa Kistner, M.Ed., PLPC
When you feel stressed, overwhelmed or weighed down by your struggles and concerns, Marissa believes counseling offers a unique way of being heard. No one knows you better than you know yourself and she wants to help you find answers and solutions that exist within you, waiting to be found. She leans on Person Centered and Solution Focused approaches along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Growth Mindset is also one of her favorite topics and skill sets to work with.
Marissa has an extensive background in education. In that time, she has seen a growing need in the area of mental health. This called her to a career change to the field of counseling. She received a Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an additional School Counseling Certification. She is currently a part time school counselor as well as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor at Christian Counseling Connection.
Marissa believes in the influence and guidance of the Holy Spirit through the ever changing journey God has planned for each of us. It can be difficult to persevere when the path or destination is unknown. She wants to help adolescents and young adults to find peace while learning effective coping strategies to aid the process. Allow Marissa to accompany you on your path to an improved experience of life in the face of challenges, struggles, or uncertainties.
